Privacy Notice & Cookies Policy
I am committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to my web site and subscribers to my newsletter. Here you’ll find information on how I treat data that I collect from visitors to the website, when someone subscribes to the newsletter or sends me a message through the contact form. I process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and if you have any concerns, please contact me directly via the contact form (I am acting as the Data Protection Officer for my website).
Visitors to the Website
When someone visits www.lucaortis.com, I use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. I do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. You can find more information on how cookies are used on this website in the Cookies Policy below.
If I do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, I will let you know at point of collection, e.g. the contact form. I will make it clear when I collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.
Information sent through the contact form
When you message me through the website, I am emailed a copy of the information you have provided and the data is also backed up securely.
Access to Your Personal Information
Under GDPR, you have the right to access and amend any of your personal data that I hold. If you would like to view, amend or delete any data I hold of yours, please contact me directly through the contact form.
Newsletter Sign Up
As part of the registration process for the e-newsletter, I collect personal information. I use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked me to tell you about; to contact you if I need to obtain or provide additional information; to check my records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. I don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
I use a third party provider, MailChimp, to deliver the newsletter. I gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help monitor and improve the e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.
You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of the emails or by contacting me directly through the contact form.

Changes to this Privacy Notice
I keep the privacy notice under regular review. This privacy notice was last updated in July 2018.
I use a system of classifying the different types of cookies which I use on the Website, or which may be used by third parties through other websites. The classification was developed by the International Chamber of Commerce UK and explains more about which cookies I use, why I use them, and the functionality you will lose if you decide you don’t want to have them on your device.
What is a cookie?
Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your personal computer, mobile or other device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device.
How long are cookies stored for?
Persistent cookies – these cookies remain on a user’s device for the period of time specified in the cookie. They are activated each time that the user visits the website that created that particular cookie.
Session cookies – these cookies allow website operators to link the actions of a user during a browser session. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browser window. Session cookies are created temporarily. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.
Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improve the user experience.
You can find more information about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org and www.youronlinechoices.eu.
