Description

This Irezumi-style bodysuit artwork features a Karashishi (Foo dog) and cub. The foo dog is often seen in pairs at the entrance of temples. They are protectors and the female is often depicted with a cub. They are said to bring luck to pregnant women and are described as having 100 offspring of which only one (the strongest) is allowed to live. Often that is decided by the mother pushing them off a cliff and waiting to see which makes it back up.

A2 fine art print on Somerset Photo 300gsm paper. Printed using archival quality, Fine Art Trade Guild approved printers, inks and certified papers, with tests showing the prints can last over 100 years. Please note that a frame is not included with this item.
